Students

A place to belong for students.

We create the soil in which students might encounter the love of Jesus and join with God’s restorative work around them.

Providing a safe space for students to explore God’s redemptive story of love and justice.

Middle School.

On Wednesday nights our middle schoolers meet from 6-7:30pm in the Pond Room at Meetinghouse. A typical Wednesday night includes an hour where we’ll play games and wrestle God’s story and how it intersects with our stories and topics of social justice, followed by a half hour of small groups where students can be fully known, fully accepted, and provided with a place to talk about stuff that matters. We prioritize fun because it opens the door for relationships — with one another, the leaders who care, and with God as we explore together how God’s story connects with our stories.

During Wednesdays from September – May, dinner is available at 5:30pm for those who can arrive early.

There is no registration required for Wednesday evening attendance.

If you’re an adult looking to volunteer with the middle school youth, email us here.

If your student requires special attention, email us here and we’ll work together to create the best experience for them.

We encourage your students to invite their friends; they are always welcome.

High School.

We aim to create spaces where each student can feel truly safe to be who they are, experience their belovedness, and wrestle with what it means to follow Jesus in our real lives. We also like having fun and experiencing joy! A typical Wednesday night consists of games, learning, small group discussions, and guidance through the messiness of everyday faith.

High schoolers meet from 7:30 – 9pm (right after our middle schooler meets).

Our Wednesday nights rotate through a series of topics and how they intersect with faith, including Racial Equity, Mental Health, Creation Care, LGBTQIA+ Support.

Once a month we also offer small group week, where students are put into small groups with leaders and encouraged to do an offsite activity with the intention to build relationships and community.

Current 8th-12th graders are invited on a weeklong trip to New Orleans this summer. We’ll partner with St. Bernard Project working on homes, be hosted by a local church, explore the culture and deepen community. Contact Nicole with questions.

Confirmation.

At Meetinghouse, Confirmation is where 8th-grade students can reflect deeply on their faith journey. The yearlong journey involves engaging with the core beliefs of Christian faith and how it connects to all aspects of life, and culminates on Confirmation Sunday, where students will have the opportunity to confirm their desire to continue their faith journey as members at Meetinghouse.

At Meetinghouse Church, all individuals belong and have a place here regardless of school, neighborhood, or identity. LGBTQIA+ friends: we want to proclaim clearly and specifically that we not only welcome you, but we also affirm and celebrate you here. Everyone, come as you are and be ready to connect and grow.
