December 1 – 12

Sometimes, the holiday season can become about all about consumption. Let’s make it about contribution, too. Sign up HERE, and we’ll send you a daily email with a simple and accessible way to serve, give, or pray alongside one of our mission partners that day. Pick a few or try to do all 12, these opportunities are for anyone regardless of age or ability!

12 Days Summary

Want to plan ahead? Here’s a snapshot of all that’s in store (again, sign up HERE to get the full details each morning):

December 1st: Card-making for the Waters Senior Living Center starting at 5:30pm during our Wednesday night programming. Take home kits available or bring in your own cards made at home to the Receptionist Desk any of the following 12 days. 

December 2nd: Avivo Village gift drive. 100 gifts specifically asked for by the residents of the Village. Find the online sign up here and bring in your gifts unwrapped to the Receptionist Desk. 

December 3rd: Attend the free Lake Wobegon Band concert at church with a freewill offering that benefits Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative (also known as Families Moving Forward).   

December 4th: Fill a grocery bag for the CES Community Emergency Service food drive – bring these donations to the bins in the commons at church tomorrow. Here’s a list of suggested items

December 5th: Pray for and learn more about our International Partners in Kenya: Deb Snell; John and Caroline Mosonik; Sam Owen.

December 6th: Volunteer at CES, 6:00 – 8:00pm. We’ll bring the donations, then sort them for the Food Shelf. Sign up to volunteer here. All ages and abilities are welcome. 

December 7th: Donate a travel coffee mug to FreedomWorks as a part of a Christmas gift for their ministry participants. Bring these items to the receptionist desk at church tomorrow or any of the remaining 12 days.

December 8th: Decorate cookies at church. Supplies will be out starting at 5:30pm during our Wednesday night programming along with boxes to take home cookies for a teacher, a neighbor, essential worker, etc. 

December 9th: Learn about food insecurity, plus pray for VEAP and Every Meal.

December 10th: Pray for and learn about more ministry partners: Mercy Ministries; Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation; Dave and Sherry Hall; Urban Homeworks; Oasis for Youth.

December 11th: At our Christmas Festival at church from 10:00am- 12:00pm you can make playdough for the Whittier Wildflowers Preschool. 

December 12th: Get a little shopping done at our Fair Anita pop-up shop today after church!
