The Wise Man with the Green Coat —(Michele Steinke)

The Wise Man with the Green Coat —(Michele Steinke)

December 24th–the Wise Man w/ the Green Coat

19 But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.  (Lk. 2:19-20)

Reflection (Michele Steinke):

I traveled far to visit the baby.

I listened to the stars.  The heavens.

Was it God?  Calling me a foreigner?

I traveled far.

I traveled in a caravan.

We wondered. Were the whispers true?

Was the Messiah for all?

We traveled far.

I saw the baby and fell to my knees.

I could feel it in my body.  Love.

Peace. Freedom.

It was so real.

I brought a gift, expensive and rich.

It wasn’t enough. I needed to do more.

Would I give Him my life?

He came for me.

We left another way; kings allow no other Kings.

I listened to my heart. My breath.

Was it God? Calling me?

I’m ready to go.

Do you listen to your life? Do you let it speak?

God of grace, who calls us into life, give us ears to listen to our lives, that we might hear you speak. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
