December 21

December 21

You are invited into a time of spiritual reflection and prayer in this Advent season—a season of waiting and listening, a season of expectation and hope.

O Lord, let me not conform to the ways of this world, but transform me by your Holy Spirit; renew me mind and heart that I may discern and do Your Will—what is good and acceptable and perfect. AMEN.

December 21. God’s faithfulness.

TAKE A MOMENT OF SILENCE as you begin.

I will sing to the LORD’S great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have shown to David my servant, I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations. Ps.89:1-4

REFLECTION from Sally McCartney
In our passage for today, the psalmist Ethan declares that it is in this highest level of power and authority that God determines his total commitment to his people. No power inside or outside of heaven can ever alter what He establishes. His covenant cannot be destroyed or weakened. Therefore, we can have absolute confidence in both the unwavering faithfulness of God and His love for us. We can be sure that He will honor this commitment to be with us, our children and all future generations for all time.

PRAYER: O Lord, it is with joy and awe that we come to you this Season! We know that you love us so much that you sent us your Son to live among us to remind us of your promise. He showed us how to live our lives so that we may dwell in your kingdom forever. Please help us to remain humbly grateful for this priceless gift. AMEN.

TAKE A MOMENT OF SILENCE as you close.
