December 14

December 14

You are invited into a time of spiritual reflection and prayer in this Advent season—a season of waiting and listening, a season of expectation and hope.

O Lord, let me not conform to the ways of this world, but transform me by your Holy Spirit; renew me mind and heart that I may discern and do Your Will—what is good and acceptable and perfect. AMEN.

December 14. What will He say to me? Wait for it…

I will stand at my watchpost, and station myself on the rampart; I will keep watch to see what he will say to me, and what he will answer concerning my complaint. Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so that a runner may read it. For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay. Look at the proud! Their spirit is not right in them, but the righteous live by their faith.
Moreover, wealth is treacherous; the arrogant do not endure. They open their throats wide as Sheol; like Death they never have enough. They gather all nations for themselves, and collect all peoples as their own. Habakkuk 2:1-5

REFLECTION from Cindy Stone
What will He say to me? What will He answer concerning my complaint? Will I have the patience and humility to keep watch? Will I trust that it will surely come, it will not delay?

Wait for it…

In this season of waiting and reforming I confess that I am often talking instead of listening, often arrogant instead of humble, often wanting answers from God in my time instead of His time. And of course, I often want the answers that I want for myself, my family, my church. Not the answers that God will make plain if I…

Wait for it…

PRAYER: God of Grace, God of Glory. Waiting is hard. Give me the courage and humility I need to wait for You in all things. Help me to have a right spirit, to live rightly by my faith in You. Grant me the patience and willingness I need to be transformed by the power of your Holy Spirit…today and all the days of my life. AMEN.
