Funeral

Colonial Church is privileged and honored to provide funeral or memorial services to the community, regardless of church affiliation.  Scheduling a funeral or memorial service is always subject to the availability of our facility, staff and volunteers.

Family members are asked to call Mary Werness at 952.925.2711 once a death has occurred. If the death takes place at night or on a weekend, do not hesitate to call the pastoral emergency number listed on the church’s phone message at 952.925.2711.  A member of our staff will return your call as soon as he/she is able to do so.  If desired, a staff member will come to comfort and pray with the family.

In the days following a death, a pastor and members of the Deacon Committee meet with the family, to make the plans for the service.

 Colonial will host a reception at the church after a funeral or memorial service, if so desired.

The Memorial Garden—just across the covered bridge on the south end of the Colonial village—is a lovely and tranquil place where many Colonial members and friends have scattered the ashes of loved ones
