Prayer is both the work and the joy of the church. It is our privilege to pray for the needs of Colonial's people, the community and the world, as well as to offer praise and thanksgiving to God.

Pastoral Prayer in Worship

The pastoral prayer is an integral part of Sunday morning worship services. Those who are in the hospital, gravely ill or recently bereaved are prayed for by name. Please call the Pastoral Care office with the names of people in need of prayer.

Staff and lay people regularly visit congregation members and their loved ones who are hospitalized. Because hospitals do not inform churches of members that have been admitted, and the church would much rather receive multiple phone calls than not know of a need within the congregation.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain is a group of men and women who are committed to praying for the needs brought before them. Anyone can call the church office to request prayer for any reason. Each day's prayer requests are transmitted—using first names only—by a series of telephone calls to those who have committed to bring them before the Lord that day. For each request, prayers are offered every day for a week.
