Your tithes, pledges and faith promises are the primary source of support for the operation, programming and outreach of Colonial Church. Funds contributed through our pledges underwrite the cost of worship, Sunday School, children's and youth ministries, adult classes, community outreach, mission and service projects, staff salaries, printing, mailings, building maintenance and supplies, utilities and so much much more. Colonial wouldn't be Colonial without your gifts of time and resources.
Why give?
The practice of every member giving regularly to support the church dates back to the days of God’s covenant with the people of Israel. In Old Testament times, tithing was considered a first responsibility. The first tenth, known as “the first fruits,” of every person’s income and possessions belonged to God. The choicest of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. (Exodus 23:19) Likewise, in the New Testament, giving to the local church was considered a basic need to support the work of telling the good news of Jesus Christ.
Why give online?
Online giving is easy, secure, convenient, and benefits both you and Colonial. Take a quick moment to set up an online payment and you won't need to remember if you gave this month or sent in your offering if you are out of town. You won't be distracted by writing your contribution check during the service. And online contributions require less processing time from our administrative staff.
Is it safe to make online contributions?
Absolutely! In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check, because an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen. Colonial uses payment methods that are among the safest on the internet. The security of the system is continually managed by our online servers.
